Invisalign braces for teenagers

To adapt to teenagers, Invisalign has taken its concept and added three specificities.

1 – The installation of blue indicators on the sides of the gutters allows to control their good use.

2 – The aligners can be modified to anticipate the new permanent teeth.

3 – Gutters are insured against loss and breakage, up to 6 replacements possible.

Invisalign Teen gutters and braces, is the efficiency the same ?

It is often reproached to Invisalign is often criticized for being less effective than braces, but this is because until now, aligners were only reserved for adults whose teeth are permanently and firmly established. Teenagers' teeth are still malleable because they have not finished growing. Invisalign Teen is therefore almost as effective for them as braces.

The invisibility of the gutters is an extremely important factor for teenagers, who are very sensitive to their appearance and concerned about the looks of others. Invisalign Teen allows them to live a normal life and avoid the possible mockery of others.

How much does Invisalign Teen cost?

Like any orthodontic treatment, the cost of Invisalign Teen depends on the extent of the straightening to be done. In all cases, your orthodontist must provide you with an estimate. Please note that this quote is only valid if the teenager wears the device carefully. If they tend to forget, the treatment will have to be extended and will therefore cost more.

On average, you should expect to pay between €3,500 and €5,000 for the complete Invisalign Teen treatment. Complete means that it includes all stages of treatment:

• the first visit to take the impressions and measurements necessary to manufacture the gutters;
• The manufacture of the aligners, which includes all the elements until the perfect alignment of the teeth, including the 6 replacement aligners;
• all intermediate follow-up visits to the orthodontist;
• Follow-up treatment, which includes a retainer to stabilize the teeth.

Invisalign Teen is reimbursed at 70% of the conventional rate by the social security, but only up to the age of 16. This represents 193,50 € per semester. The complement can be covered by the mutual insurance company.
